How The Promise Plan works

Help ensure your pet is never left waiting, even when life gets in the way.

When the unexpected happens, preparation matters

From daily check-ins to coordinated care

Step 1: Build Your Care Plan

Instead of a static form, you gain access to a centralized Care Portal. Through guided frameworks, you build a Care Plan that captures the essential nuances of your pet’s routine—details that only you would know. Your plan is a living record, ready to be updated at any time.

  • Comprehensive Care Profiles: Archive the full spectrum of your pet’s needs—from medical history and nutritional requirements to the subtle behavioral triggers only you understand.
  • The Escalation Tree: Assign and rank your trusted contacts.
  • Instructional Handoff: Your plan is formatted into clear directives that can be easily shared with your circle if needed.

Step 2: The Daily Check-In

Our system is designed for zero-intrusion recognition. We don't track your location or monitor your movement; we simply verify your status through a scheduled touchpoint.

  • The Trigger: Receive a daily notification at your preferred time and your choice of call or text.
  • Grace Period: If you miss a check-in, our system provides two follow-ups within your chosen 30, 45 or 60-minute window. We only escalate to your contacts if these secondary attempts go unanswered.
  • Status Verification: A simple response by call or text keeps your pet’s safety net in a standby state. Our system remains in the background until it's actually needed.

Step 3: The Protocol Activation

If your safety window closes without a response, the system transitions from automated check-ins to human-led outreach. We bridge the gap by alerting your contacts and providing them with the tools to step in for your pet.

  • Verified Outreach: Our team personally calls your trusted contacts in the order you’ve ranked them to confirm someone can step in and provide guidance based on your instructions.
  • The Digital Handoff: Simultaneously, we deliver your pet’s complete Care Plan to your contacts, giving them the instructions they need to provide seamless care to your pet.

The check-in response timeline

Our system is built to notify us when you don't respond to a check-in. Depending on the "grace period" window you choose (30, 45 or 60 minutes), we follow a strict escalation path to ensure no pet is left waiting.

  • 1 | The Daily Check-In: We send you a quick text or call at your chosen time to make sure you’re okay.
  • 2 | First Follow-Up: If you don't respond, we wait for your chosen "grace period" window (30, 45 or 60 minutes) and then reach out a second time.
  • 3 | Final Follow-Up: If we still haven't heard from you after another window of time, we send one last automated alert.
  • 4 | Contact Outreach: We wait for a response to the final follow-up for one full "safety window". If that window closes and we still haven't heard from you, our team personally begins contact outreach.

Your trusted contacts

A plan only works if your friends and family are ready. We handle the hard part of making sure everyone is on the same page:

  • Permission to Help: When you add a contact to your plan, we send them an email to consent that they are okay with being listed as a contact on your plan.
  • The Right Info at the Right Time: Once they accept, they are integrated into your safety net. They will gain access to your pet’s care plan only if our outreach is triggered by a missed check-in and two subsequent follow-ups.
  • Your Chosen Order: You decide the order in which we reach out to your contacts.

Privacy & security

We believe you can protect your pet without giving up your privacy.

  • No Tracking: We do not track your location or follow what you do. We only notice if you don't reply to your daily check-in.
  • Safe Storage: All information part of your care plan is stored in your personal portal which is a secure, private system.
  • Private Until Needed: Your pet’s care details are shared with your contacts only when your plan is triggered.
  • You're in Control: You can change your information, add new pets or pause the service for a vacation whenever you want.

Protection that adapts to your life

Managing your service

Your safety net should be flexible. We’ve built in simple tools to ensure the system works around your schedule, not the other way around.

Pausing Service

You can pause your daily check-ins at any time if you are traveling directly through your portal or by simply responding to a check-in call or text.

Choose Your Method

You decide how we reach you. You can select between a standard SMS text or a recorded voice call for your daily check-ins.

Time Zone Sync

Your check-ins are scheduled based on your local time zone (ET, CT, MT or PT), so your routine remains consistent no matter where you live.
