What happens if I miss a check-in?

If you miss a scheduled check-in, The Promise Plan sends two follow-up messages within a set timeframe (typically a few hours apart). If all three attempts go unanswered, your plan activates: the system contacts your designated caregivers in your set order, shares your pet's complete care instructions including medical information and routines, and guides them step by step on what to do next.

Can I customize my check-in schedule?

Yes. You can choose check-ins as frequently as once daily or as infrequently as 3 times per week based on your preferences and lifestyle. You can also adjust your schedule at any time and pause check-ins temporarily when you're away or on vacation by simply notifying us via text or email.

What information should I include in my pet's care plan?

Your plan should include: emergency contacts with phone numbers and emails, veterinarian information and clinic hours, current medications with dosages and schedules, feeding routines and dietary restrictions, behavioral notes and personality traits, exercise needs and routines, medical conditions and allergies, preferred pet sitters or boarding facilities, and any special care instructions. The Promise Plan securely stores all this information and shares it only when your plan activates.

How quickly are my contacts notified in an emergency?

Once your plan activates (after three unanswered check-in attempts), your first designated contact is notified immediately. If they don't respond or can't help, the system automatically moves to the next contact on your list. This ensures rapid response and maximizes the chance that your pet receives care within hours, not days.

What if my emergency contact information changes?

You can update your emergency contacts, pet information, care instructions, and all plan details at any time through your account. The Promise Plan also sends regular reminders to review and verify your information to ensure your plan stays current and effective. Step 2: The Daily Check-In

Our system is designed for zero-intrusion recognition. We don't track your location or monitor your movement; we simply verify your status through a scheduled touchpoint.

The Trigger: Receive a daily notification at your preferred time and your choice of call or text.
Grace Period: If you miss a check-in, our system provides two follow-ups within your chosen 30, 45 or 60-minute window. We only escalate to your contacts if these secondary attempts go unanswered.
Status Verification: A simple response by call or text keeps your pet’s safety net in a standby state. Our system remains in the background until it's actually needed.

The check-in response timeline

Our system is built to notify us when you don't respond to a check-in. Depending on the "grace period" window you choose (30, 45 or 60 minutes), we follow a strict escalation path to ensure no pet is left waiting.

1 | The Daily Check-In: We send you a quick text or call at your chosen time to make sure you’re okay.
2 | First Follow-Up: If you don't respond, we wait for your chosen "grace period" window (30, 45 or 60 minutes) and then reach out a second time.
3 | Final Follow-Up: If we still haven't heard from you after another window of time, we send one last automated alert.
4 | Contact Outreach: We wait for a response to the final follow-up for one full "safety window". If that window closes and we still haven't heard from you, our team personally begins contact outreach.

Permission to Help: When you add a contact to your plan, we send them an email to consent that they are okay with being listed as a contact on your plan.
The Right Info at the Right Time: Once they accept, they are integrated into your safety net. They will gain access to your pet’s care plan only if our outreach is triggered by a missed check-in and two subsequent follow-ups.
Your Chosen Order: You decide the order in which we reach out to your contacts.

No Tracking: We do not track your location or follow what you do. We only notice if you don't reply to your daily check-in.
Safe Storage: All information part of your care plan is stored in your personal portal which is a secure, private system.
