What exactly is The Promise Plan?

The Promise Plan is a digital communication and coordination system — not pet insurance and not boarding. It exists to ensure your chosen contacts know what to do and how to act for your pets if you are unresponsive to check-ins. We monitor your well-being through automated check-ins and coordinate with your emergency contacts if you become unreachable.

How does plan activation work?

If you miss a scheduled check-in, The Promise Plan follows a defined escalation process: one check-in plus two follow-ups. Only when you are confirmed unreachable after all three attempts does your plan activate — exactly according to your stored instructions and pet care plan.

Who decides what happens to my pet when the plan activates?

You decide everything in advance. You choose the people, caregivers, and your pet's care plan before any emergency occurs. If you are unresponsive to check-ins, The Promise Plan coordinates outreach to your contacts, but all decisions are guided by your pre-written instructions — not guesswork.

How much does The Promise Plan cost?

The Promise Plan costs $25 per month per pet, with a one-time $50 enrollment fee. You can also choose quarterly billing at $75 every 3 months, or annual billing at $250 per year (which includes 2 months free, saving you $50). Additional pets can be added for $5 per month each.

When does my plan become active?

Plans are enrolled in scheduled cohorts to ensure each plan is properly prepared and supported. The next activation cohort begins March 31, 2026. Monthly billing starts when your plan becomes active. You can enroll now to reserve your spot.

Can I update or cancel my plan?

Yes. You can update your pet's care instructions, emergency contacts, and preferences at any time through your account. You can also cancel your plan at any time with no penalties. The enrollment fee and plan payments are non-refundable except as required by law.

What happens if something happens to me?

If you miss your check-in and two follow-ups, The Promise Plan activates your emergency plan. We reach out to your designated contacts in the order you specified, share your pet's complete care instructions including medical information and routines, and guide them through the next steps to ensure your pet receives immediate care.

Is this service available in my area?

The Promise Plan is available to all pet owners throughout the United States. You must be 18 years or older and able to form legally binding contracts to enroll.

What if I'm just on vacation or away temporarily?

You can easily pause your check-ins when you're away on vacation or traveling. Simply notify The Promise Plan by text or email with your pause dates, and check-ins will automatically resume when your pause period ends.
